Joanne Wright

Principal Architect

Joanne is a registered architect, and founded Archiasmo Architectural Works Limited in 1995.  Joanne is personally involved in every project, from planning and design through to the end of construction.  Her projects have included community, educational, commercial, industrial, multi-residential, and mixed use developments.

Growing up in a small community in Saskatchewan, Joanne has always had an interest in First Nation history and culture. Beginning with her architectural thesis on First Nation cultural influences 30 years ago, Joanne has worked on numerous First Nation projects over the span of her career. 

Over the past few years Joanne, and her architectural firm, have become primarily focused on First Nation Learning Environments.

Education and Qualifications

  • Master of Architecture, Technical University of Nova Scotia, 1990

  • Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies, Technical University of Nova Scotia, 1988

  • Highest marks, NCARB Professional Registration Exams for Alberta, 1994

  • Registered Architect with AAA 1995        

  • Completed LEED course 2007

  • Revit Certificate from SAIT, completed all three levels of Revit, 2017

  • Member of Steering Committee, and founder of the Indigenous Outreach Team, for the Alberta Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE)
